The Selby
Project Context
The Selby represented Tricon Corporation’s first direct-to-rental custom build in downtown Toronto. The owners deep appreciation for art informed every decision, with a directive to engage residents on a more meaningful level by integrating art into their daily experience—despite a tight development timeline.
Our Solution
We curated a gallery-like environment that greets each resident at every turn. Every space became an opportunity for engagement - the lobby, the amenity spaces, stairwells and even art hung at dog-eye level in the pet spa—so that art became integrated into their daily routine. By commissioning exclusively Canadian artists, the artwork embodied life in Toronto and invited residents to engage with diverse narratives and to see themselves reflected in the work - fostering inspiration and a sense of belonging. This project underscores the client’s sincere belief that investing in the careers of artists both enriches the community and creates a more meaningful experience.
