Project Context
Canary Landing is a landmark mixed-use development in Toronto’s east end—a newly built neighbourhood that brings together over 2,300 purpose-built rental homes, retail, and community spaces, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and design excellence. Led by a partnership between Dream, Tricon Residential, and Kilmer Group, the project represents a major investment in the future of urban living. The curatorial challenge was to develop an art program that would reflect the project's scale and ambition, while aligning with its LEED Gold sustainability goals and unique geographic positioning along Lake Ontario.

Our Solution
This project brought together everything we value in a meaningful, collaborative partnership. Guided by the theme Urban Meets Nature, we curated an art program that reflects the spirit of Canary Landing—connected to place, forward-thinking, and grounded in community. We worked with over 25 local artists to deliver site-specific commissions and large-scale installations throughout the development, from lobbies and courtyards to key pedestrian pathways. Every detail was carefully considered—from concept to installation—to ensure the work not only met our standards, but truly elevated the experience of those who live, work, and pass through the neighbourhood. The result is a collection that doesn’t just complement the architecture—it helps define the identity of this new community.
